Conn Wonder Mellophone

A "Wonder" mellophone from 1900. These mellophones had many different options: they could be tuned in either F, Eb, D or C and low pitch or high pitch. In total 8 tuning options! All this was done using different mouthpipe slides for F, Eb, D or C and a separate set of slides for high pitch and low pitch. Judging from this picture and a Conn ad I have seen for this model, the pictured instrument is configured for Eb and low pitch. They were in production between at least 1900 and 1915.
