Conn 8E C-Bb Ballad Horn
Date: 1924. (Drawing)
The 8E is the Low Pitch version of this instrument, the 9E is the High Pitch version.
What Conn said in 1924:
The Ballad Horn, is played with the right hand, and does not require the more difficult embouchure necessitated
by the French Horn. It is primarily a solo instrument; its tone is mellow and sympathetic, and it is popular for c
church and home. It is built in C and furnished with Bb crook. Song ballads are produced with unusual effectiveness
on this horn.
