Conn 76H Beitel Model Large Symphony
Date: 1924, owned by Robert Adamson
This is a truly rare instrument, the 76H Beitel Model Large Symphony. Produced between 1921 or 1922 and 1926, probably on special order only. It doesn't appear in any of the Conn catalogs I have for that period. As can be seen in the picture, it is Tuning-In-Slide. The previous owner, Mr. Sherman, tells me it takes a Remington large shank mouthpiece. Apparently both Kanstul and Greenhoe have made trombones based on the Conn model 76H. This is the real thing. It has a #4½ bore size, which is about 0.5469".
